Closer to the Empire Center and Citrus Heights, the original 1950s ranches often hide oak strip flooring under carpet that is worth refinishing rather than replacing. Fontana also catches gritty Cajon Pass wind off the I-15 near Auto Club Speedway, so we steer busy entryways toward harder species and tougher wear layers.
